Who buys creator-marketing and creator-commerce businesses, and what do they pay? This tracker is a curated record of 32 notable acquisitions of influencer and creator marketing agencies, creator networks, creator-commerce and TikTok Shop agencies, and influencer-marketing platforms, announced from 2019 to October 2, 2026. It is not exhaustive: many smaller agency deals are never announced. Every entry is checked against a primary or credible source and links to it. Values are shown only where they were disclosed or reported, and exactly as reported.

What the record shows
Holding companies are the most frequent repeat buyers. WPP bought three influencer agencies in 2022–2023 (Village Marketing, Goat, Obviously). Publicis Groupe then bought four creator businesses between July 2024 and October 2025: Influential (reported at about $500M by The Wall Street Journal), BR Media Group in Brazil, Captiv8 (reported at about $150M) and HEPMIL Media Group in Southeast Asia. Each target brought a creator network and a client book in a new market or capability.
Software and commerce platforms buy creator infrastructure. Sprout Social paid $140M for Tagger, Later paid about $250M in cash and equity for Mavely, and Shopify, Lightricks, Meltwater, CreatorIQ and Bazaarvoice each bought creator tools. These are bets on the workflow — discovery, contracting, payment, measurement — rather than on a roster.
Agencies and talent managers buy reach and technology. Accenture Song bought Superdigital and Whalar; talent managers Dulcedo Group and Collective Artists Network bought creator-matching technology; IZEA bought Australia’s Hoozu.
TikTok Shop specialists are the newest targets. Pattern Group bought NextWave in December 2025; in 2026, Podean bought Social Commerce Club (SCC), AMZ Advisers announced its purchase of a stake in Reach Social Commerce, Common Thread Collective bought TBAR Partners and Power Digital bought uptickk. All five buyers are commerce operators extending from Amazon, marketplaces or DTC into creator-led selling, where the creator’s video is the storefront.
Consumer brands have mostly built or partnered rather than bought. Only one acquirer in this record is a consumer-products company. Large brands have instead scaled creator programs with their own teams and with partners: Unilever’s CEO has said the company is already working with close to 300,000 influencers. We look at what that implies in Build, buy or partner.

- Included: a curated selection, not a complete census, of acquisitions announced between January 2019 and October 2, 2026 with a named buyer and a public announcement or credible reporting, where the target is an influencer or creator marketing agency, a creator network or MCN, a creator-commerce or TikTok Shop agency, or an influencer-marketing software platform.
- Sources: company announcements, stock-exchange filings and established business or trade press. Every entry was checked against a source we opened; nothing is estimated.
- Values: shown as disclosed by a party to the deal or as reported by a named outlet, which is stated next to the figure. Most deals in this market are undisclosed.
- Acquirer type: classed by the buying entity. Accenture’s deals are listed as “agency” because they were made through Accenture Song, its marketing business; IZEA is listed as an agency because its revenue is almost entirely managed services. Several agency and platform acquirers are themselves backed by private equity; no private-equity firm appears here as a direct buyer.
- Not included: PR and corporate-communications agencies; social scheduling tools; NextTrip’s June 2026 controlling stake in YADA Commerce, a TikTok Partner Agency whose announced business also includes music-artist promotional events; Simplistic’s September 2026 purchase of Tiide Commerce, an Amazon-first agency that also offers TikTok Shop services; and deals whose buyer we could not verify beyond a name in the announcement, such as the March 2026 sale of Creator’s Corner.
- Notes on individual entries: Nu Skin’s 2021 price for Mavely is from Note 19 of its FY2021 Form 10-K, which dates the closing to April 2021; the deal was announced on November 10, 2021. Hoozu’s value is from IZEA’s 2023 Form 10-K, because the announcement gave the form of payment (cash, stock and KPI-linked deferred payments) but not the amounts. Captiv8’s value is The Wall Street Journal’s figure (Digiday reported a higher one). BR Media Group’s is reported by Exame, citing sources, not disclosed by Publicis. The Social Commerce Club deal is sourced to the acquirer’s own announcement. The Reach Social Commerce entry is dated by AMZ Advisers’ announcement of July 27, 2026; Adweek reports that AMZ Advisers bought its 50% in October 2025. On August 17, 2026 Chief Media announced that it had acquired AMZ Advisers and, according to Adweek and Chief Media’s own site, the other 50% of Reach Social (Chief Media press release, GlobeNewswire; Adweek; Chief Media’s summary of the Adweek coverage). Chief Media’s August 2026 purchase is recorded in the Reach Social Commerce entry rather than as a separate row, so it is not counted as a separate deal in the totals above.
